How to use it

Choose the file, confirm its length scale, and review import or repair messages before building a mesh. Choose Build All Geometry to update Graphics.

Scale1Apply a positive, dimensionless multiplier to imported coordinates, together with the source length unit conversion. Position offsets are applied afterward. Check a known dimension to avoid converting the source length unit twice.
Position X0[m]Add this global x translation after the imported coordinates have been scaled. It is an offset, not the imported object's bounding-box center. Use metres or compatible length units.
Position Y0[m]Add this global y translation after the imported coordinates have been scaled. It is an offset, not the imported object's bounding-box center. Use metres or compatible length units.

Surface treatmentStrictStrict validates the imported surface without choosing a repair treatment. Solidify as one domain, Repair preserving parts and Reconstruct assembly domains can change the geometry or domain partition. Choose deliberately and inspect the repaired shape, parts and diagnostics before meshing.
Solidification resolutionAutomaticChoose the length scale of the reconstruction grid for a repair treatment, or Automatic. A smaller positive spacing can retain finer features but increases memory and time; it is not the later finite-element mesh size.
Vertex weld toleranceAutomaticSet a nonnegative distance in metres within which repair may join nearby surface vertices, or Automatic. Excessive welding can erase an intended narrow gap; inspect the repaired surface.
Gap closing toleranceAutomaticSet the nonnegative length scale allowed for closing small gaps during surface repair, or Automatic. Do not close a physical opening simply to obtain a meshable solid.
Minimum component volume0[m^3]Set a nonnegative volume threshold in m^3 for retaining disconnected components during repair. Zero specifies no positive minimum volume. Compare the retained parts against the source so small real components are not discarded.
Maximum repair deviationAutomaticSet a nonnegative distance in metres limiting the allowed repair deviation, or Automatic. Compare the repaired geometry and its reported deviation with the dimensions important to your model.
CAD healingOffTurn optional CAD repair On only when needed. The subordinate sewing, small-edge, thin-face and solid-reconstruction options are used when CAD healing is enabled; these are not surface-triangle repair controls.
CAD healing toleranceAutomaticSet the nonnegative length tolerance for optional CAD healing, or Automatic to use the import's scale-dependent tolerance. Start small and inspect intentional small details after repair.
CAD sew facesOnWhen CAD healing is On, allow compatible faces to be sewn into connected shells. A connected shell is not by itself proof of a valid closed solid; inspect the import result.
CAD repair small edgesOnWhen CAD healing is On, allow repair of very small edges that can impede a valid CAD shape. Check that intentionally small load or contact regions survive.
CAD repair thin facesOnWhen CAD healing is On, allow repair of narrow or degenerate faces. Inspect thin physical regions rather than assuming every removed face was unwanted.
CAD reconstruct solidsOnWhen CAD healing is On, allow solid reconstruction from suitable closed shells. It does not guarantee that an open or inconsistent shell can become a valid solid.
CAD contact toleranceAutomaticChoose a nonnegative distance in metres, or Automatic, for classifying nearby CAD bodies as contacts. A detected geometric contact does not add a mechanical, thermal or electrical coupling.
CAD interference volume toleranceAutomaticChoose a nonnegative overlap volume tolerance in m^3, or Automatic, for CAD interference classification. Inspect overlapping bodies before assigning materials; this setting does not remove overlaps.

Result

Built solids and their selectable entities appear in Graphics.

Troubleshooting

An open or self-intersecting surface may not define a solid. Inspect repairs and dimensional accuracy before trusting a repaired import.
