Polygon Profile

Draw a planar outline from an ordered set of vertices.

Draw a planar outline from an ordered set of vertices.

Where to find it

Geometry workspace; System → Geometry

How to use it

Enter the vertices in perimeter order and use the resulting closed outline as an extrusion or revolution input. Choose Build All Geometry to update Graphics.

Settings and initial values

SettingInitial valueMeaning
Work planeWork Plane 1Choose the label of an earlier Work Plane in the geometry sequence. Its center and local u/v directions place the profile in space. Correct a missing-plane warning before using the profile; the fallback plane is not proof that the intended reference was found.
Points-0.5[m],-0.3[m]; 0.5[m],-0.3[m]; 0[m],0.45[m]Enter ordered local u,v coordinate pairs separated by semicolons, for example 0[m],0[m]; 1[m],0[m]; 0[m],1[m]. Supply at least three vertices in perimeter order. Coordinates refer to the work plane; crossing edges do not define a suitable simple outline.

Result

Built solids and their selectable entities appear in Graphics.

Troubleshooting

Crossing edges or an open contour can prevent a valid solid from being built.
