Assign source-backed materials

Use installed material definitions without mixing unsupported property sources or conventions.

Open Materials → Library Material or Browse Materials. Choose a definition whose physical assumptions and temperature range match your problem; a familiar material name is not enough.

  1. Read the listed property values, units, conditions and references.
  2. Select the domains that should use this material and inspect their highlight.
  3. Confirm that the active physics has every required property. For anisotropic or piezoelectric materials, check tensor convention and orientation.
  4. Run the model and check a known response before relying on the material in an unfamiliar regime.

Do not silently combine unrelated tabulated values or extrapolate a constant beyond its stated conditions. If a required property is absent, supply a justified value in a suitable custom material rather than treating the missing quantity as zero.
