Cut tool objects out of another solid.

Where to find it

Geometry workspace; System → Geometry

How to use it

Choose the object to keep and the objects to subtract, then build the operation. Choose Build All Geometry to update Graphics.

Settings and initial values

SettingInitial valueMeaning
Base objectsBlock 1Select the solids to retain after cutting. The operation subtracts Tool objects from these Base objects; reversing the two lists changes the remaining volume.
Tool objectsCylinder 1Select the solids to subtract from Base objects. A tool must overlap a base to remove volume. Review Keep input entities if the cutter must remain available afterward.
Keep input entitiesfalseWhen enabled, retain the original selected objects as well as the operation result. When disabled, replace the selected inputs with the result. Retained overlapping solids can require different material or mesh selections; inspect them before solving.

Result

Built solids and their selectable entities appear in Graphics.

Troubleshooting

Reversing the input roles changes which material is removed.
