Translate an existing geometric object without changing its size.
Translate an existing geometric object without changing its size.
Where to find it
Geometry workspace; System → Geometry
How to use it
Select the input object and enter the displacement components. Choose Build All Geometry to update Graphics.
Settings and initial values
| Setting | Initial value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Objects | all | Select earlier objects by label or a named selection; comma or semicolon separates labels and all selects available inputs. Confirm the highlight so an unrelated object is not transformed. |
| Keep input entities | false | When enabled, retain the original selected objects as well as the operation result. When disabled, replace the selected inputs with the result. Retained overlapping solids can require different material or mesh selections; inspect them before solving. |
| Displacement X | 0[m] | Add this signed global x displacement to every selected point. Use metres or compatible units. This is a translation offset, not the final coordinate of the object center. |
| Displacement Y | 0[m] | Add this signed global y displacement to every selected point. Use metres or compatible units. This is a translation offset, not the final coordinate of the object center. |
| Displacement Z | 0[m] | Add this signed global z displacement to every selected point. Use metres or compatible units. This is a translation offset, not the final coordinate of the object center. |
Result
Built solids and their selectable entities appear in Graphics.
Troubleshooting
Check whether the setting describes a displacement or a final position; rebuild dependent selections afterward.
