Mesh mode

Choose automatic mesh setup or an explicitly authored mesh sequence.

Location

Mesh → Free Tetrahedral → Size → Mesh mode

Initial value: User controlled.

Automatic creates Free Tetrahedral groups from the built geometry, uses Netgen (Python), and resets maximum and minimum sizes to auto. User controlled retains the authored sequence. Switching to Automatic can replace manual setup; it is not solution-error adaptation.

Using the value

Use User controlled when you need to preserve explicit generators and sizing values; inspect the sequence after changing mode.

Troubleshooting

If manual settings disappeared, check whether Automatic was selected. Save a model copy before changing a carefully tuned sequence.
