Base fineness

Scale a size target derived from a preset.

Location

Mesh → Free Tetrahedral → Size → Base fineness

Initial value: 1.

When Maximum element size is automatic, the preset-derived target is divided by Base fineness, using at least 1 as the divisor. A value of 2 halves that target. An explicit Maximum element size takes precedence; values below 1 do not coarsen the preset.

Using the value

Keep the maximum size automatic to use this multiplier, or set an explicit length instead.

Troubleshooting

If the mesh size does not change, check for an explicit Maximum element size or a later Size node overriding this control.
