Boundary Layer

Add a boundary-focused layer-count control to the mesh sequence.

Add a boundary-focused layer-count control to the mesh sequence.

Where to find it

Mesh workspace; System → Mesh

How to use it

Select the relevant boundaries and set Layers together with an enabled volume generator. Choose Build Mesh to apply the sequence.

Settings and initial values

SettingInitial valueMeaning
Selectionallall selects the applicable boundaries; otherwise use a named selection or the selection editor. In the supported structured meshing path the layer count contributes a global minimum-edge sizing constraint; this selection does not establish a locally extruded layer stack.
Layers3Enter a positive integer. The supported structured meshing path uses Layers as a global minimum-edge division requirement; it is not a guaranteed stack of extruded prism layers, nor a prescribed physical layer thickness. The bounding-box preview may show extra boundary points; inspect the completed solver mesh separately.

Result

Inspect the element distribution and counts before running a study.

Troubleshooting

This is not a standalone volume generator. Inspect the resulting mesh; the layer count alone does not establish a resolved physical boundary layer.
