Initial value: Naive.

Naive rescales sizes without an error estimate. Solution-driven uses recovered gradients of published nodal state fields and repeated remesh/solve steps. Only one enabled Mesh Adaptation feature is supported. Solution-driven currently requires a Stationary study, Netgen (Python), and an enabled Free Tetrahedral generator without Swept / Mapped.

Using the value

Use Naive for a planned uniform size change. For Solution-driven, prepare a supported Stationary model and run the study; compare the reported error estimate and your engineering quantity.

Troubleshooting

Transient, eigenvalue, frequency-sweep and optimization error control are not supplied by this estimator. Do not interpret a successful mesh build as completed solution-driven adaptation.
