Close edge factor

Set the Netgen parameter for sizing between close edges.

Location

Mesh → Swept / Mapped → Size → Close edge factor

Initial value: 2.

This is a finite positive dimensionless Netgen factor, applied only when Close edges is enabled. It is not a physical gap width. These Netgen controls do not change the supported structured box-meshing path; use its size and through-thickness controls instead.

Using the value

Enable Close edges before adjusting its factor, rebuild, and inspect the actual narrow region.

Troubleshooting

Zero, negative and non-finite values are rejected. A stored factor does not turn on the disabled rule.
