Differential State

Add an unknown state governed by a time-derivative equation.

Add an unknown state governed by a time-derivative equation.

Where to find it

System → physics interface → Differential State

How to use it

Add this feature under Global ODEs and DAEs. Enter the state, parameter or output expression and its applicable initial value. These equations describe lumped quantities, not a selected geometric domain.

Settings and initial values

Namex
Unit1
Equation0
Initial value0

Result

The next compatible study includes this physical contribution or condition.

Troubleshooting

Check state names, expression units and initial consistency. Algebraic constraints must be compatible with the initial differential states.
