Methods and settings

Compare optimization methods and configure their search limits and convergence controls.

Use GCMMA/MMA when the chosen objective, constraints and physics provide compatible derivatives. Use CMA-ES for a population-based search without objective derivatives, allowing for the cost of repeated model evaluations. Set bounds and budgets before running either method, and inspect feasibility as well as objective improvement.
